Nike was a group placing female here in Canada, and despite being ill with a tick-borne disease while in the U.S., in 3 short months of showing she was Nationally ranked down there! She was the number one female in Canada in 1999 and number five Mastiff; won the Canadian Mastiff Club Booster over male Specials in 1999; and won Best Brood Bitch at the Canadian Mastiff Club National Specialty in 2003. She also won Best Veteran in Specialty in 2005, and my daughter handled her to Best Junior Handler. She is also the dam of several champion offspring; a Best in Specialty Show winner; Best of Opposite Sex in Specialty Show winner; Best Canadian Bred in Specialty Show winners; and a Best Puppy in Show winner!  She also achieved her CMC Draft Dog Level III certificate, as well as her Canine Good Citizen.

Nike developed osteosarcoma in her front right leg. The Vets gave her 1 - 2 weeks tops to live. We decided to try homeopathy, and watched as the tumour on the leg first grew larger, then began to go down. We got 5 more really good months with Nike in which she was actually running around and playing. Sadly, the cancer suddenly metastasized in her spine and she had to be euthanized. Again, with intense research we can see that so many factors like diet, pesticides, vaccines and chemicals impact our dogs health.

Nike was always a talker, and had one of those larger than life personalities. She leaves a huge void in our home.

Nike is a gold level Mastiff on the CMC honour roll.
